Saleep Shrestha

Saleep Shrestha is a junior Computer Science major in the Honors College at The University of Southern Mississippi. He is currently working on his Honors thesis in sentiment analysis under the guidance of Dr. Chaoyang Zhang, with a strong interest in AI, finance and applied computing. He is a four-time President’s List honoree and an Honors College Discovery Scholar.

Saleep serves as President of the IBM Z Xplore Club and Vice President of the USM Entrepreneurship Society. He is also a Resident Assistant for Housing and Residence Life at USM, where he supports and mentors students on campus. He has participated in IBM TechXchange and is currently working as a Software Developer Associate at illumibot LLC and Exium.

Originally from Pokhara, Nepal, Saleep is passionate about fitness, enjoys going to the gym, getting coffee, and playing tennis and swimming. He previously competed in two

national-level swimming competitions in Nepal and speaks three languages.
