Mississippi’s efforts to provide more services on digital platforms has not only netted awards but has saved the state millions over the last three years, officials said.
Since the state’s E-Government program started in 2011, the state has saved roughly $1 million each year in infrastructure, payment processing and website maintenance, such as the state’s MS.gov portal, said Craig Orgeron, Mississippi chief information officer and director of the state ITS department.
